Meet Dowa
Dowa Ross believes public service begins with understanding what families experience every day—and doing the work to turn those concerns into action.
As a mother of three, an Eastvale community member, a small-business owner, and a student at the University of California, Riverside, Dowa brings lived experience and a commitment to learning into her campaign for City Council.
She is pursuing Public Policy through UCR's B.A./M.P.P. pathway alongside studies in urban and community development, urban planning, and Spanish. For Dowa, education is not separate from service. It is how she strengthens the knowledge and skills she can bring back to her community.
Her approach is simple: listen closely, learn continuously, and make sure residents have a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their neighborhoods.
Community priorities
Dowa's priorities come from the everyday needs of families, seniors, students, and local entrepreneurs.
Support home-based and storefront entrepreneurs through practical education, mentorship, and clearer pathways to funding and local resources.
Explore more useful local transportation options, including flexible service that better connects seniors and residents with disabilities.
Strengthen school-supply support, connect young people with public-service opportunities, and encourage clear emergency-preparedness plans.
Advocate for accessible recreation and gathering spaces that serve residents when families actually need them—including on weekends.
Prepared to lead
From the classroom to programs in Washington, D.C., Dowa is building a broader understanding of government so she can apply it where it matters most: at home.
“I am building my knowledge so I can serve our community better—and bring what I learn back to the local level.”
