Learning, listening, and bringing it home.

Dowa Ross believes public service begins with understanding what families experience every day—and doing the work to turn those concerns into action.

As a mother of three, an Eastvale community member, a small-business owner, and a student at the University of California, Riverside, Dowa brings lived experience and a commitment to learning into her campaign for City Council.

She is pursuing Public Policy through UCR's B.A./M.P.P. pathway alongside studies in urban and community development, urban planning, and Spanish. For Dowa, education is not separate from service. It is how she strengthens the knowledge and skills she can bring back to her community.

Her approach is simple: listen closely, learn continuously, and make sure residents have a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their neighborhoods.

How to cast your vote.

Start by checking your registration, then choose how to vote. The next general election is November 3, 2026.

Not sure if you are registered? California’s official My Voter Status tool lets you check your registration and confirm your address and other details.

2. Register or update

Use California’s official registration website to register or update your information. If you miss the regular registration deadline, eligible voters can still use same-day registration in person, including on Election Day.

3. Make a voting plan

Vote by mail, return your ballot to an official drop box, or vote in person. Check Riverside County’s election page for current election information and voting-location updates.

Choose how to vote

  • By mail: Active registered voters are mailed a ballot. Complete it, sign the return envelope, and mail it early. It must be postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days afterward. If mailing on Election Day, ask a postal employee inside a post office for a hand-stamped postmark.
  • Drop off your ballot: Return your completed ballot in its signed envelope to an official drop box or voting location by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
  • Vote in person: Visit a voting location. Confirm the location’s dates and hours with the Riverside County Registrar of Voters before going. For help finding a location, call (951) 486-7200.
